Show us Your Skin!

Cyberspace Automotive Performance is the first and only automotive-based website that allows you to select the skin of your choice when viewing the site. Don't like the dark, deep-space look of our default skin? Choose from one of the other skins that we offer. But wait, it gets better!

Design your own skin and win!

That's right, if you are capable and so inclined, you can design your own skin for the CAP website! Submission details are provided below. Periodically, we will review the skin design submissions and will select some for publication on the website. Of those that we select, we will choose one as the "best of class" and will reward that designer with a free set of Magnecor ignition wires (shipping not included, some restrictions apply, see rules for details.)

How to Submit Your Skin:

The skin is made up of 11 images and a cascading style sheet (CSS).

The Images

	This image is the background of the file. In our default example, it is merely a 5 pixel x 5 pixel single-color image that sets the background color. Unlike the other images,there are no limits on what you can do with the dimensions of this image. The name must be back.jpg.
	Ok, artists this is your primary area for making your statement. This image should be 647 pixels by 67 pixels (no deviation.) The name must be banner.jpg. (All other images shown at full size, but this one is reduced to fit on this page.)
	This image will be the background for the right hand side toolbar. The width is of primary concern, the height is less important. Dimensions of the example here are 103 pixels by 45 pixels. The name must be toolbarbackground.jpg.
	This image presents the vehicles tab when it is "off". You can be creative with the look, but it must say "vehicles" and the size must be 75 pixels x 18 pixels. The name must be tabvehiclesoff.jpg.
	Ditto the instructions for the Vehicles Off Tab (above), but this will be the vehicles on. The name must be tabvehicleson.jpg.
	Same as the Vehicles tab, this time we're working on the categories tab so it must say "Categories". Dimensions are 91 pixels x 18 pixels and the name is tabcategoriesoff.jpg
	The name for this one is tabcategorieson.jpg (what else?)
	You should be getting the hang of this by now. This one must say "Manufacturers" and the size 118 pixels x 18 pixels. The name is tabmanufacturersoff.jpg
	Ditto above, name this one tabmanufacturerson.jpg.
	This is the start (left hand side) of the broad rule that goes underneath the main top banner (at the same level as the 3 tabs described above.) The dimensions for this underscore are 9 pixels wide by 18 pixels tall. This image should be named tabunderscoreshort.jpg
	This is the end (right hand side) of the broad rule that goes underneath the main top banner (at the same level as the 3 tabs described above.) The dimensions for this underscore are 354 pixels wide by 18 pixels tall. This image should be named tabunderscorelong.jpg

The Cascading Style Sheet (CSS)

Besides creating the 11 images described above, you should create a cascading style sheet. An example is shown here. This will tell browsers how to display the fonts used in preformatted text (the shopping lists), active/inactive/visited links, etc. If you're not familiar with this then simply ensure that the colors are significantly different than the background you select with your back.jpg image.

Entry Submission

Finally, to submit your entry, place all 11 images and the CSS file into a single zip file and email it to cap@cyberauto.com, Subject: Skin Contest. You will be notified of the receipt of your entry and will be further notified only if your skin is selected for a prize or for submission to the website. By submitting a skin design to the website you release all rights for publication to Cyberspace Automotive Performance, Inc. Furthermore, contestants indicate by their willing submission that they have not used any copyrighted material in the creation of their skin submission.

The Rules

Sorry, every contest has to have at least some rules and this one is no different.

Winner must pay shipping costs
Winners are selected by an independent panel chosen by CAP
CAP Employees and Family Members not eligible for contest
Contest subject to participation. CAP makes no promised to award prizes on any particular schedule, but will maintain this contest for as long as interest is shown, and will select a winner at such time as it is deemed that enough suitable entries have been submitted to merit selection.
Contestants may enter as many entries as they like, but please only submit any entry once as they take time to process and review.
Contestants release all copy rights to any submissions to Cyberspace Automotive Performance, Inc. at the time of submission.
Contestants are responsible for ensuring that they use no copyrighted material in the creation of the submitted skin.
